Boredom is a fixable foreign condition and intentionally never written into my values. But I do have a tender heart. There’s no point avoiding it, I was forced to put the breaks on a special cohabitation which meant a lot for us but essentially carried on to nowhere. I guess somone could tell ya it has been a while since I dated someone new. I don’t have the great expectations I held years ago.

Living free and single isn’t bad. It’s a given that I can’t stay in peacefully watching Jack Bauer (from 24) on DVD. The number one cause of this case of fresh break-up dating loneliness? The people I know are settling down, and everyone else is boring.

My one-time football buddy, Jim, who will never have dating lameness, sympathized because he is currently somewhere he can relate. He introduced me to this Dallas dating service called Great Expectations. Of course, I can’t argue with introductions with quality singles who share my passions. So I put myself on a plan and became a member.

Be honest, ya can’t complain due to going dateless when ya haven’t picked up the phone. Just like our mentor and basketball coach Paul Kniffen chimed in with a smile, “Fools lose before they try, sonny.”

Sheer genius, right? Regardles, Coach was a source of truth in a way nobody could understand. He always made us laugh. The crazy series of singles events in Dallas here could have overloaded the gipper’s noggin’.

At great expectations singles events I mingled with a few substantive and desirable singles that catch my eye. I truthfully had a blast with a few terrific noteworthy men and women. I ducked out of the mixer a little early following a promising exchange of numbers, in addition to the fact that I developed some professional relationships for my company. Success.

Take action. Can’t be happy if you don’t. Take it from me, you might as well have great expectations for dating.
